Ludo: The Classic Board Game for Cash
Ludo has been a family favorite for generations. Now you can compete against players worldwide for real money prizes. This guide covers rules, strategy, and tournament tactics.
How Ludo Works
Objective: Move all four of your tokens from start to the home triangle before your opponents.
Basic Rules: - Roll a 6 to move a token out of the starting area - Move tokens clockwise around the board based on dice rolls - Land on an opponent's token to send it back to start - Get all four tokens to your home triangle to win
Dice Rolling: - Roll a 6: Move a piece AND get another roll - Rolling three 6s in a row: Turn ends (prevents infinite rolling)
Strategy Fundamentals
1. Get Tokens Out Early
Don't leave tokens sitting in start. The more pieces you have on the board, the more options you have each turn.
2. Spread Your Risk
Don't cluster all tokens together. If they're spread out, one bad landing doesn't devastate you.
3. Use Safe Squares
Certain squares (usually marked with stars) are safe - opponents can't capture you there. Use them strategically.
4. Capture When Possible
Sending opponents back to start is huge. It costs them many moves to recover. Prioritize captures over minor advances.
5. Home Stretch Timing
Tokens on your colored home path are safe. But don't rush all pieces there too early - you might need tokens in play for captures.
Advanced Tactics
Blocking
Two of your tokens on the same square create a block. Opponents can't pass or land there. Use blocks to trap enemy pieces.
Sacrifice Play
Sometimes leaving a token exposed baits opponents into a bad position. Consider sacrificial moves that benefit your overall position.
